About Me

Hi, I’m Mickey Leon — a photographer, creative director, and storyteller with more than two decades behind the camera. For me, photography isn’t just about taking pictures — it’s about capturing emotion, truth, and the energy that lives between confidence and vulnerability. My goal has always been to create images that make people feel something long after they’ve stopped looking.

My work is deeply rooted in authenticity. I believe beauty exists in every form, every body, and every story. Whether I’m shooting editorial portraits, creative concepts, or fine art projects, I approach each subject with respect and intention — giving them space to be seen, not just photographed.

Over the last 11 years, I’ve also built and led District of Curves — The Washington D.C. Plus Size Fashion Showcase, one of the largest plus-size fashion events on the East Coast. That experience shaped my artistic voice and gave me the opportunity to work with countless plus-size models and brands who are redefining what inclusion looks like in the fashion industry.

Through my lens, I aim to highlight power, softness, and individuality — especially for people who have spent too long being told they don’t fit the standard. My photography celebrates what’s real: the curve of a shoulder, the strength in a glance, the emotion in a still moment.

For me, the camera is a tool for connection and representation. It’s how I tell stories that matter. It’s how I remind people that they are art.
